Childhood Coast in Cyan

Made in the UNSW studios, Bittersweet revisits the summers of my childhood on a shoreline I can no longer reach. Working with cyanotype, I use its saturated cyan to anchor faint recollections—shell curves, dune grasses, the meeting line of sea and sky. Each print records only what the light touches, leaving blank the parts memory cannot recover. Together the sheets hold a double charge: the sweetness of remembered freedom and the bitterness of present distance.
